Sarah Buddendeck

Speech-Language Pathologist

Sarah grew up in Cary, North Carolina. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Master of Education in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Virginia. Sarah is currently completing her clinical fellowship year in speech-language pathology. She has experience working in daycares and after-school programs, outpatient clinics, public schools, and adult hospital settings.

Throughout her graduate studies, Sarah had the privilege of serving individuals with a variety of diagnoses, including Autism, Apraxia of Speech, Developmental Delay, Dysarthria, Articulation Disorders, Phonological Disorders, Expressive and Receptive Language Disorders, Fluency Disorders, Social Communication Disorders, Aphasia, Dysphagia, Voice Disorders, Traumatic Brain Injury, Cognitive-Communication Disorders, ALS, Parkinson’s disease, Muscular dystrophy, Cerebral Palsy, and Head and Neck Cancer. She is particularly interested in augmentative and alternative communication, cognitive-communication, and language disorders.

Sarah is dedicated to improving her patients’ quality of life through a creative, functional, person-centered approach to therapy. She believes in tailoring treatment to each patient and family’s unique values, lifestyles, and real-life communication goals.
Outside of work, Sarah enjoys Pilates, reading, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.
