Kristen Fletcher

SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

Kristen Fletcher is originally from western North Carolina. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology, both from Appalachian State University. Kristen is a nationally certified and state-licensed Speech Language Pathologist with over 9 years of experience working with children in elementary and middle school, daycare, and private practice settings in Virginia and North Carolina. Throughout her career, Kristen has worked extensively with children ages 1–18, treating the following disorders and diagnoses: articulation/speech sound disorders, phonological disorders, receptive and expressive language disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, voice, fluency, traumatic brain injury, developmental disorders, autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, spina bifida, and aphasia.

Kristen brings a strong clinical foundation and a heartfelt commitment to supporting clients and their families on their communication journey. She has special interests in phonological disorders, early intervention, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Kristen enjoys implementing a play-based approach and building trusting relationships with both children and families to create a supportive and engaging therapeutic environment. Outside of work, Kristen enjoys reading, hiking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends!
