Amanda Russell

PHYSICAL THERAPIST

Amanda is a native to Arlington, VA and graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2017 with a B.S. in Exercise Science. She is a proud alumna of UNCW’s Division I Swim and Dive team – Go Seahawks!! Following her undergraduate degree, she continued her journey to receiving her Doctor of Physical Therapy in Fayetteville, AR (Woo Pig Sooie!!) at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, graduating in 2021. Recently, Amanda became a certified lymphedema therapist (CLT) through Klose Training in January of 2025. She also has experience working as an acute care physical therapist at local hospitals.

Amanda believes movement is medicine! From swim coach to physical therapist, Amanda has always felt a strong passion for the pediatric population and has worked with children of all ages in different capacities and settings throughout a majority of her career. She has experience treating patients of a wide variety of diagnoses, including cerebral palsy, spina bifida, traumatic brain injuries, genetic and chromosomal disorders, torticollis, spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), muscular dystrophy, Down Syndrome, and gross motor development impacts as related to premature birth and cancer diagnoses.

Amanda and her husband, who is also a physical therapist, are parents to a newly one year old daughter, and two fur babies (a yellow and a chocolate lab), named Sam and Stella! When her PT hat is off, she is always planning her next family adventure, as she loves to travel and spend time outdoors. She enjoys cooking, staying active, and listening to music; country is her favorite!
