Brianna Swain M.S. CF-SLP

Brianna lived in the small town of Bath, NC until she relocated to Greenville, NC to attend East Carolina University while pursuing both her undergraduate and graduate degrees. In 2019, Brianna obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S) in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) with a minor in Child Development and has recently graduated with her Master of Science (M.S) in CSD. During her time at East Carolina, Brianna remained an active member of the National Student Speech-Language and Hearing Association, National Collegiate Honors Society, and Phi Kappa Phi Honors Society. Initially, Brianna entered college with the intention of becoming a Child Life Specialist; however, she discovered her passion for the field of CSD as a result of several impactful experiences with a Speech-Language Pathologist who educated and inspired her to become speech therapist herself.

While attending East Carolina, Brianna gained hands-on clinical experience with the pediatric and adult populations in a variety of settings including East Carolina’s Speech-Language and Hearing Clinic, a Cleft Palate Imaging & Visualization lab, local elementary schools, a private practice, and the Neuroscience Rehabilitation center at Vidant Greenville Hospital. Brianna has experience evaluating and providing treatment for a variety of communication diagnoses including language delays/disorders, articulation & phonological delays/disorders, fluency, autism spectrum disorder, dysarthria, feeding/swallowing disorders, and cognitive-communicative deficits resulting from traumatic brain injury, aphasia, dementia, and strokes. Additionally, Brianna has experience co-leading an aphasia group and providing teletherapy services.

Brianna is currently completing her Clinical Fellowship Year as a Speech-Language Pathologist through the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) and is in good standing with the North Carolina Board of Examiners in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology. Brianna is passionate about helping others find their voice while prioritizing the relationships built with both the patient and their loved ones.

Brianna now lives in Cary, NC and enjoys spending her free time reading, traveling to new places with family and friends, and being out on the water.
